FIT

What matters most to you? The level of rigor of the biology programs? The ability to do research as an undergrad? Prestige? Great dorm food? Whatever it may be, there are colleges that will match your needs. No college is the "best" school for all students. Keeping fit in mind throughout the process will ensure you end up at a college where you can be successful and enjoy your college experience.

Four fit factors considered:

  1. Academic

  2. Social

  3. Financial

  4. Athletic (for student-athletes)

Even Stanford agrees - fit is more important than college rankings (click here to read more).

Authenticity

Staying true to one's self through the college admission process can be a tough thing. Students can feel overwhelming pressure to be accepted over all else. However, what is often lost in this process is that each student is in a position to make a selection too; each will eventually choose one college that is best for him or her. The best results come when students are willing to suspend other's judgment and think deeply about what they desire in their college experience.

Empowerment

We already went to college.  Sure, we'd like to go back but this is our students' time! Students lead the process with Williamson College Prep.  As counselors, we are here to partner with parents as students' support systems through this process.  It will take time and energy to successfully navigate the college admission process, but we know our students have it in them (and we are here to remind them of that every step of the way).
